A defining natural trait of this regional Morus alba variety.

About 70% of the fruit dries naturally on the branch — exceptional drying yield is recorded in the official GI documentation.
Protected designation of origin.
"Çemişgezek Ulukale Dutu" is registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) as a designation of origin, No. 423, since 08.03.2019.
Grown without pesticides.
Traditional cultivation; no chemical spraying on the trees.

Strings of walnuts dipped in thickened mulberry juice and dried.
A village, not a factory.
Ulukale is a village in Çemişgezek, Tunceli, in Eastern Anatolia. Around 350 growers cultivate some 300 hectares of mulberry orchards here, the way their grandparents did — and ship the result across Turkey and to European markets.
Harvest runs from late May to July. Cleaning, sorting and packaging are done in the cooperative region's automated, no-touch facility.
